College Scholarship Money Awarded to area High School Juniors
The Tulsa Chapter of Executive Women International recently awarded a total of $12,000 in college scholarship money to five area high school juniors through the annual Executive Women international (EWI) Scholarship Program (EWISP). The Tulsa Chapter scholarship recipients for 2008-2009 are Olivia Shadid, Cascia Hall, $5,000; Ami Dave, Holland Hall, $3,000; Will Baysinger, Owasso High School, $2,000; Brooke Gunter, Claremore High School, $1,000; Charlie Tines, Grace Christian School, $1,000.
The scholarship recipients were honored at a banquet on May 14, 2009, Tulsa Country Club with keynote speaker Dr. Brenda Lloyd-Jones, associate chair and associate professor in the Department of Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma, and founder of the People Interaction Institute—a human relations training and consulting firm.
The recipient of the top scholarship, Olivia Shadid, will now compete at the national level for a chance to win one of the six national EWISP scholarships, with awards ranging from $2,000 to $10,000.
